The Mazzo Group Builds 20th Home for Families in El Salvador

Thanks to a generous donation from The Mazzo Group, Maria and Sam Garcia in El Salvador now have a safe place to call home. This is the 20th home made possible by The Mazzo Group.

The Garcia family consists of Maria Esteban (27 years old), and her partner Samuel (29 years old), they have lived in the community together for 11 years. Their son Francisco is currently in kindergarten and his school is about 40 minutes away. He loves to go to school and play with his toys at home. Maria currently works as a cook for a company, working Monday to Saturday from 5 am to 3 pm. She loves going to church with her mom and dreams of having a safe home for her family. Sam currently works at the car wash, working Monday to Saturday from 7 am to 7 pm. He also loves repairing cars and dreams of owning a car repair shop. Together, Maria and Sam earn about $350/month, which helps them pay for daily expenses like transportation, meals, water, and electricity, but it has been challenging for them to save enough money for a safe home.

The previous structure they were living in was made of rusted metal and plastic tarps, and when it rains, everything they own gets soaked and damaged from the water.

The Garcia family looks forward to a fresh start in their new home. They also hope to see enhancements in their community, like paved roads and streetlights.
